Andrew Walsh

Managing Director

Based in Australia, Andrew took the role of Managing Director in October 2009, after seven years as General Manager of the IRESS Wealth Management division, overseeing the growth and direction of our wealth management business in Australia and internationally.

Andrew founded XPLAN Technology (XPLAN), and from 2003 managed the transition of XPLAN from an independent organisation to a fully integrated division of IRESS Market Technology. Prior to IRESS, Andrew worked extensively in the actuarial, financial planning, and technology industries.

Jim Davies

President and Chief Executive Officer

Jim has over 25 years’ experience in the financial information and IT services markets. He has several executive positions with North America’s leading news and information service providers.

Prior to joining IRESS Canada, Jim was Managing Director of Reuters Canada. Before Reuters, he served as President and COO of Kasten Chase Applied Research. From 1996 to 2000, he was employed by Standard and Poor's in New York and held the positions of Executive Managing Director, Capital Market Services, and President and CEO of the JJ Kenny Company. From 1983 to 1996, Mr. Davies held various senior positions with Dow Jones Telerate.

David Mulder

Vice President and Chief Technology Officer

David joined TIL Systems Ltd in 1980. David provided support and project management of systems for market data and trading for brokerages and exchanges, including leading the installation of CATS in Brussels and Madrid.

This background made him ideally suited to the role of CTO when Kasten Chase decided to enter the trading workstation business in 1999. This business was later purchased by ITG and subsequently by IRESS Australia. During all these transitions, David has continued to be a critical and integral guide of operations and development. 

Michael Harrison

Vice President of Sales

As a sales executive within the financial services community, Michael Harrison has worked with some of the most recognized names in Canada including CMQ Communications, Dow Jones Telerate, Bridge Information Systems and Reuters. Michael began his career over 20 years ago providing technical service support for CMQ Communications in Vancouver. Michael subsequently moved to Calgary with Dow Jones Telerate to manage their sales and support office for Central Canada, where he assumed responsibility for new account generation. This covered technical services and market data solutions for the fixed income, money market, foreign exchange, energy, equity and derivatives markets. Michael moved to Toronto in 1999 as Senior Account Manager with Bridge Information Systems, responsible for selling feed and web services for the Canadian marketplace. In 2003, Michael joined Reuters as a Senior Account Manager with a strong focus on Wealth Management Services and Trading. Michael subsequently joined IRESS in 2006 as Director of Sales, becoming VP of Sales for IRESS in 2007.

John Melrose

Vice President of Operations

John has 10 years experience in the Financial Software industry, beginning with quote terminal vendor Equinet Australia. He then moved to a technical role as Systems Engineer for BridgeDFS (now IRESS Market Technology Australia Ltd) and Senior Systems Engineer from 2000 onwards.

In August 2004 he joined IRESS KTG Canada LP and has been an integral part of building up the infrastructure and implementation of what is now IRESS Canada. John holds a Diploma of Financial Markets - Securities Institute of Australia and is both MCSE and CCNA certified.

Lori Scott

Vice President - Products

Lori joined IRESS in 2004 as an Account Executive, and quickly assumed an integral role in gathering and presenting customer requirements as part of the product development cycle. Lori formally joined the IRESS product development team where she assumed the role as Director in 2008.

Lori began work in the financial services sector providing technical service support services for a financial software and brokerage firm. She soon progressed into management, responsible for overseeing technical support for both U.S. and Canadian operations. Within this position, Lori developed considerable experience and expertise in supporting the retail, institutional and buy-side trading communities.

Stephen Hawryluk

Supervisor of Finance and Administration

With over 20 years of corporate financial experience within the information, securities and trading sectors, Stephen’s proficiency in business and financial analysis has been developed through key roles at Dow Jones, Bridge and Reuters. Stephen’s areas of expertise also include systems and process integration following mergers and acquisitions, as well as experience in facilities management and purchasing.

Prior to joining IRESS in 2006, Stephen held long-term positions as Senior Financial & Business Planning Analyst at Reuters Canada Ltd and Senior Financial Analyst at Bridge Information Systems.

Stuart Bland

Chief Financial Officer

Stuart joined IRESS in 2001 and is based in Australia. Prior to this, he held a number senior management positions in a range of industries including telecommunications, biotechnology and the wine industry. These senior roles were commercial, financial and M&A focussed. Previous to this, Stuart worked at Coopers & Lybrand for nine years, primarily in their corporate advisory area.

Peter Ferguson

Group General Counsel and Company Secretary

Peter joined IRESS in June 2011 and is based in Australia. He has many years' experience in international legal and commercial appointments in the financial technology sector, with prior international and domestic appointments including seven years with Nasdaq OMX, located in Stockholm and later Sydney, GBST and SIRCA.
